Basically, the hardware of the computer are the parts that make up the computer itself. These parts include the Central Processing Unit, which is the specific chip of the processor of your computer. This piece determines the rest of the computer’s circuitry and chips. The most common type of central processing unit is the one put out by Intel whihc was designed for personal computers. This is a faster processor than the ones that came before it.
The next piece is pretty self explanitory, the keyborad. Obviously the keyboard is used to type information into the computer using a variety of keystrokes. There are thousands of different types of keyboards. They can come in different shapes and sizes and have different symbols on the keys depending on the language. Most keyboards are a standard Latin symbol alphebet. It might be interesting to know that the keys are laid out in a specific design to make typing easier. It is called the ergonomic design. New keys were introduced at computer use became more specific like the control key, the alternate key, and the shirt keys.
Removable storage and disk drives are part of you computer’s hardware. Thank the heavens we do have to use floppy disks anymore! Types of disks are used to get information on or off your computer. Your computer will either read the information off the disk or write the information into the disk. Disks are specific in design and preform specific functions. Disks like CDs and DVDs are used to watch movies or listen to music while thumbsticks are used to store information.
Your mouse is also a part of your hardare. The most common type of mouse today is the mouse controlled pointer. Most mouse have two buttons which do different things. The one on the right is used to access menus for the computer while the one on the right is used to select objects. Most mouses have a round ball under it that helps it to move around. Most people like the touch pad on their laptop rather than using a mouse.
